Welcome to Truth Treasures,, a monthly post where I feature goodness from around the web which I hope will be helpful to you, as well as some personal tidbits, and other treasures. I pray you will be blessed and God will be glorified.
Merry Christmas to you, dear reader!
I’m reading through the Gospel of Luke and journaling what I’m learning each day. Sharing one of those here…..
Just As It Was Told Them
“And the shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as it was told them.” Luke 2:20
An angel appeared to the shepherds and announced that a Savior had been born. The shepherds went in haste to find Him, for He was the long awaited Messiah. They found Him just as it was told to them: swaddled in cloths and lying in a manger.
Isn’t it a glorious reminder? One day we will find it to be just as it was promised to us.
Now, we see only in part—as in a mirror, dimly. Now, we walk by faith and not by sight. Now, we wait for the fulfillment of what has been told us, as a watchman anticipates the break of dawn.
The shepherds had a fast turn-around time from faith to sight in that eve so long ago. Ours doesn’t seem so quick. But the Lord is not slow as some consider slowness, for with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. It’s all the same to an eternal, ever-present being.
But one day—one day soon, dear believer—we shall truly see! We shall see our Lord face to face and our faith at last will be sight. One day, in the twinkling of an eye, we shall see Him just as He is, and finally be like Him.
While we wait, though we do not see Him, we believe in Him and rejoice with joy inexpressible. One day we will be able to rejoice fully and perfectly, just as the shepherds did.
One day we will see and hear that it is just as we were told. What a day of rejoicing that will be!
Come, Lord Jesus. Come!
