Truth Treasures – December 2025

Welcome to Truth Treasures,, a monthly post where I feature goodness from around the web which I hope will be helpful to you, as well as some personal tidbits, and other treasures. I pray you will be blessed and God will be glorified.

I’m reading through the Gospel of Luke and journaling what I’m learning each day. Sharing one of those here…..

Just As It Was Told Them

An angel appeared to the shepherds and announced that a Savior had been born. The shepherds went in haste to find Him, for He was the long awaited Messiah. They found Him just as it was told to them: swaddled in cloths and lying in a manger.

Isn’t it a glorious reminder? One day we will find it to be just as it was promised to us.

Now, we see only in part—as in a mirror, dimly. Now, we walk by faith and not by sight. Now, we wait for the fulfillment of what has been told us, as a watchman anticipates the break of dawn.

The shepherds had a fast turn-around time from faith to sight in that eve so long ago. Ours doesn’t seem so quick. But the Lord is not slow as some consider slowness, for with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. It’s all the same to an eternal, ever-present being.

But one day—one day soon, dear believer—we shall truly see! We shall see our Lord face to face and our faith at last will be sight. One day, in the twinkling of an eye, we shall see Him just as He is, and finally be like Him.

While we wait, though we do not see Him, we believe in Him and rejoice with joy inexpressible. One day we will be able to rejoice fully and perfectly, just as the shepherds did.

One day we will see and hear that it is just as we were told. What a day of rejoicing that will be!

Come, Lord Jesus. Come!

On my night stand:

  • A Basket of Summer Fruit – Susannah Spurgeon. A Christ-centered devotional book I highly recommend as good food for the soul.

  • The Christmas Candle – Max Lucado. Lovely story and a nice change from the usual Christmas movies of the day.
The sun sets on an empty pasture and, for the first time in 11 years, there are no horses in my backyard. My daughter and her husband moved them to their own homestead. It was a bittersweet day for this mama: a final uprooting of sorts, yet the beginning of a new chapter in the life of my daughter’s young family. The Lord is good.
The geese are still here. It baffles me each year how late they stay. It’s cold outside, the ice is forming on the edges of the river, the grass is no longer green, but the geese remain. If I were a migrating bird, I’d be long gone from this frigid land and scouting warmer pastures much farther south!
Grey hush shrouds the air;
frigid dampness settles deep.
Driven to retreat, creation waits
bleak, lifeless—hope bound ‘neath a winter’s grip.

Thank you for spending time here! Feel free to say ‘Hi’ in the comments and let me know you were here! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
