Sometimes on Friday’s I like to participate in the join-up at Five Minute Friday where we write for 5 minutes on the prompt word for the day. This week’s word is ‘Like’.

Advent begins in just a few days, but it feels like the Christmas season is in full swing. I do love Christmas! Yet as I get older, I tell myself each year that I’m not going to get so caught up in the intensity and busyness of the season that can lead to stress and take my heart and mind off the true celebration. In case you’re like me, looking for deeper meaning, peace and purpose in this special and favorite season, here’s a few thoughts about the real reason for the season, before He gets lost behind the elves, bows, tinsel, reindeer and lineups.
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given.” Is. 9:6
Who is this Child, this Son? He is L.I.K.E:
L
Lamb of God. LORD of Lords. Steadfast Love. Creator, sustainer of Life, Light of the world, and the Lion of Judah. Lifter of the Lowly who gives Liberty to the captives, and Light to those who sit in darkness.
I
Immanuel, God with us, Invisible God made visible, Incarnate God as the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. Immortal, Immutable, doer of the Impossible, and Imparting Inexpressible grace. Ever living to make Intercession for His people, and giving us an Inheritance Incorruptible, stored up in heaven.
K
King of Kings who holds the Key to eternal life. Keeper of my soul. Ruler of a heavenly Kingdom that will never be shaken. Kindness displayed as He was Killed for my sins. And yours. Kiss the Son, before whom every Knee will one day bow.
E
Everlasting Father, Eternal God, Beginning and the End, holy and Enthroned in heaven, who inhabits Eternity. Him God has Exalted. He will come again to Execute judgement upon the Earth.
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”
Isaiah 9:6-7
Wow, how profound

I love the way you interpreted this. Words don’t do justice to what He is like, but you have done a great job. And we are to be like Him! That’s grace!

Thank you for taking the time to read! Words most definitely cannot express what the Lord is like!
