Happy August to you, dear reader! I’m not sure where the last seven months have gone to, but here we are. It’s new day, a new month, and this is a new post here on the blog. Welcome!
I’ve named this new regular post Truth Treasures, and I plan to send it live on the first Friday of each month. I will continue to write my articles every second Thursday.
Truth Treasures will feature some goodness from around the web which I hope will be helpful to you, as well as some personal tidbits, resources for the creatives amongst us, book recommendations and other treasures. I pray you will be blessed and God will be glorified.
Reading Nook:
- A summer favorite on my Kindle: Susannah Spurgeon: Lessons for a Life of Joyful Eagerness in Christ
- For the littles: The 21 book series is called The Stories Children Love. The name says it all – my students are captivated when I read these fun books. (They can be purchased separately as well).
Teacher Resources:
- Did you know I am a teacher? The arrival of August means the count-down has begun for back-to-school preparations. I struggle to find attractive Bible-themed posters for my classroom, but I was happy when I found this Fruit of the Spirit poster set which fits nicely above my chalkboard (yes, chalk board, dust and all 🤗).
- One of my favorite subjects to teach to elementary students is Bible. I so enjoyed teaching this curriculum last year. If you are searching for a resource for your Sunday school or elementary school classes, Behold Your God: Seeking Him Early is a sound, Christ-focused, Bible curriculum. The lessons are well laid out, easy to follow, as well as engaging for the children.
Around the Web:
- Saved From a Shallow Faith – Greg Morse
- The Quiet Power of a Courageous Word – Tim Challies
- Christ Be All, Grace Worship – This song brought me to tears the first Sunday morning I heard it.
Creative Corner:
- 6 Reasons For You to Consider Writing – Tim Challies – This article is one of the resources the Lord used to spur me on to start this blog almost three years ago.
- Write the Truth, Beautifully – I have taken this gentle and helpful writing course and highly recommend it. A new session begins in September.
