Joining in with Something Brief, Something True . Here we write a few words about a verse of Scripture.
Inspired by fall’s fading light and the worshipful call of Psalms of 96-98, I found myself penning some thoughts into a poem. May it be a blessing to you on this cool, late fall day.
Creation Sings
The forest sings it’s golden song,
The field grasses sway.
It’s drawing near, it won’t be long,
That great and dreadful day.
All creation rejoices now,
Can’t you hear the clamor?
If trees, grass, and heavens resound,
Shouldn’t we sing louder?
O, give us hearts which yearn for You,
Walk with You, bless Your name!
You reign in righteousness and truth,
Make known your work, your fame!
“Come soon, Redeemer, Saviour, Friend!”
Let all Your people sing.
Uphold us firm until the end,
As we wait for our King.
“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the LORD.
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth.”
Psalm 96:11-13
