Waking up to this morning’s bitterly cold, post-snowstorm sunrise lifted my heart to the Lord in gratitude. As I sipped my coffee before church, I read Proverbs 4 and discovered a verse which was so perfectly illustrated in the view before me:
“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until fall day. ” Proverbs 4:18
A thick ice fog hovered over the river this morning before daybreak. As the sun rose the fog gradually became translucent, and then faded away. The path of the righteous is like this, dim at first, gradually getting lighter as we walk along in our journey toward our eternal home. Soon the fog will lift and the day will be full. Until then, dear Christian, walk on, steadfast, “your gaze straight before you” (Proverbs 4:25b).
Have a blessed Lord’s Day.
“For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” Romans 8:29-30
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3
