Welcome to Truth Treasures, a new monthly post for the first Friday of each month. Here I will feature some goodness from around the web which I hope will be helpful to you, as well as some personal tidbits, resources for the creatives amongst us, book recommendations and other treasures. I pray you will be blessed and God will be glorified.
Reading Nook:
Between adjusting to the fall back-to-school schedule, and enjoying the warm afternoon and evenings we’ve been blessed with, I am reading a lot less right now.
On my Kindle:
- Theo of Golden – Allen Levi
Teacher Resources:
I do get to read aloud to my students regularly though. These are a couple of our favorites:
- The Tower – Evonne Krell – historical fiction children’s book surrounding the events of the Tower of Babel
- Sammy and His Shepherd – Susan Hunt – a captivating and beautiful story based on Psalm 23.
Around the Web:
- The Call of the Cosmos – a short video by the John 10:10 Project. What an incredible privilege modern space technology is that gives us a glimpse of the previously unknown realm of the heavens. We are only just now able to see the depth of the truth of Scripture is when it says: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Or “He made the stars also.” (Gen 1:1; Gen. 1:16). Watch and be in awe.
- Do You Remember the New Atheism? – Tim Challies
- The Light of the World – Kristin Couch
- Wrinkles That Testify – Beth Ferguson
- There is a King – Travis Cottrell, a song.
A New Find:
And this new find: Canadian made and completely natural cosmetic products. The eyeshadow doesn’t make my eyes water!
Creative Corner:
- To the Christian Writer: Just Write– Grant Herbel
- Write the Truth, Beautifully – a writing course
Life Through My {Camera} Lens:

Maples and oaks, birches and elms all decorated in gold, plum, and burnt umber, shed their glory, leaf by leaf. The late afternoon sun paints long, dancing shadows over a muted, crisp carpet of drying grass and fallen leaves. Squirrels and chipmunks dart and scamper across the freshly laid covering as they gather bounty for their winter’s storehouse.

I unexpectedly discovered these fragrant, delicate petals blooming on my snake plant. They only open as the sun sets, then close during the evening. Did you know snake plants flowered?? I did not!
